QUITO // Pets in the Park

June 30, 2009   |   Posted By Renee   |   Personal

Shaun took this adorable shot of our dog, Quito, this past Sunday while we were at the Edmonton Humane Society’s annual event, Pets in the Park. We had a lot of fun at Hawrelak Park, and I hear that the event did a wonderful job of raising funds for the Edmonton Humane Society. If you know me or Shaun, you’ll know we love animals! We have an upcoming pet session, so be sure to check back next week for a sneek peak!

ASHLEY AND DUSTIN, PART. 2 of 2 // Edmonton Wedding Photographer

June 23, 2009   |   Posted By Shaun   |   Weddings

After a lot of deliberation, Renée and I finally decided which pictures to post for Part 2 of Ashley & Dustin’s wedding! We did everything from lying on our backs to making Dustin sit in a tree, so we hope the pictures are worth it!

MAULER // Edmonton Portrait Photographer

June 22, 2009   |   Posted By Shaun   |   Personal, Portraits

The other day I had the chance to take some pictures of family friend Gary “Mauler” Ferrier at Legends Golf and Country Club. Former Edmonton Eskimos quarterback and CFL legend Wilky was playing in a tournament hosted by the course, and Gary wanted some pictures so I took a few shots for him.

I started out with some close ups of Gary which ended up looking insane.

I also managed to snap a picture of Gary with this long time Legends resident:

ASHLEY AND DUSTIN, PART 1 of 2 // Edmonton Wedding Photography

June 19, 2009   |   Posted By Renee   |   Weddings

I can’t believe it’s actually happened, but Ashley & Dustin’s wedding has now come and gone! Shaun dropped me off at the Savani Salon early in the morning to meet up with the girls, and I have to admit – I was nervous. We have done two previous sessions with Ashley & Dustin (see them herehere, & here), so the nerves had nothing to do with them. They are amazing, laid back, and kind and I knew their day was going to be perfect. But, this was our first wedding! What if we screw up? What if all of our equipment fails (yes, all of it)? What if it pours rain or storms and our locations for portraits don’t work out? The “what ifs” basically didn’t stop floating around in my head until I actually met with Ashley, and her two wonderful bridesmaids – Catherine & Jenny. As soon as we were together, I totally relaxed – I knew that everything was going to be OK. Ashley was such an easy going bride, and Dustin was such a cool and collected groom, so I figured if they were holding themselves together that well then I probably could too. The ceremony & reception took place at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and we stopped by the University of Alberta for some portraits in between. We have so many great shots to choose from, so we’re splitting their wedding into two posts!

Congratulations Ashley & Dustin – we had an amazing time!

Ashley’s Maggie Sottero dress was gorgeous!

This is so sweet – Ashley’s reaction to seeing Dustin at the end of the aisle!

I love this series of Dustin adjusting Ashley’s bustle!

Yep, this car is pretty much amazing – Dustin’s Dad built it!

Ashley & Dustin are always up for whatever ideas we have – even a parkade shoot on their wedding day.
