Sally and Peter are an incredibly easy going couple. Each was so relaxed and happy on their wedding day – no stress at all! They trusted us completely during their engagement session and their wedding was no different. We knew from the very first email that we were going to have a great time with Kristie and Mike. They drove out to Edmonton for their engagement session and we were able to witness how special their love for one another is; their wedding day couldn’t come soon enough! They are so full of energy and life. We were thrilled to head to Calgary, AB for their gorgeous wedding and are happy to now be sharing some of their day.

After the ceremony, we headed off to the adorable My Favorite Ice Cream Shoppe for portraits!

Finally, back at the Sirocco Golf Club for portraits and the reception! We had a ton of fun taking these images – even when we got intro trouble with the course marshall.

The cookie bar was amazing – all of the cookies were home made specialties!

Maid of honour Brittany got a bit choked up during her speech.

The hula-hoop kissing game. Choose a couple and make them kiss for as long a you can hula!

The first dance was to the song “Magic” by Robin Thicke – fun and upbeat, just like Kristie and Mike.

Shaun and I instantly hit it off with Pretee and Moses during our first meeting and we couldn’t wait to get them in front of our cameras. We knew they were going to be a ton of fun to work with and we were definitely right! They were up for all of our suggestions and we had a blast during our time together. Their wedding is fast approaching and we’re looking forward to being a part of their day!

We first met Jenny just over a year ago at Ashley and Dustin‘s wedding. We had such an awesome time with her, and her parents immediately inquired about hiring us for Jenny and Cody’s wedding! We’ve been dying to see these two again for their engagement session, and we’re happy to report that they can now check it off of their “to do” list!

Shaun and I met up with Drew, Janice, Braydon, and Dylan on a super hot Sunday in St. Albert. The boys are both under the age of three so we knew we were going to have our work cut out for us! Needless to say, we had tons of fun and are excited to be sharing some of what we captured during our time together.

Kristie and Mike’s engagement session was a long time in the making. Kristie initially emailed us in December to inquire about their July wedding, and booked us shortly after. We immediately began throwing ideas back and forth for their engagement shoot, and became quick friends throughout the process! We knew we wanted multiple outfits, a picnic with wine, and an open field. All of the elements were coming together for an amazing session, we just had to figure out when to schedule the darn thing! Kristie and Mike are currently living in Calgary and would be coming into Edmonton for the session, so great weather was a must have. All of the Albertans out there know how incredibly unpredictable our weather is, so it took a few weeks before we were able to make it happen. When it was supposed to be rainy it was sunny, and on the day of their session when it was supposed to be sunshiny and beautiful we had some pretty daunting grey clouds roll in just hours before! Luckily, the rain held off until late into the evening and we were able to take advantage of the longer hours of light to make our picnic at the park themed session come together! It feels so surreal to have finally met Kristie and Mike after so much planning, and we can now truly call them our friends.

Thanks for being so awesome, we can’t wait for your wedding in July!

While we were shooting on the bridge, we looked down to see this beaver going on a bit of an adventure! He swam to the shore, found some wood, nibbled the wood, and eventually swam away with it. Shaun grabbed a ton of great shots, but this one with the geese is a definite favourite of mine.

Early this past Sunday morning, we met up with Sally and Peter for their nature inspired engagement session. While we were all a bit sleepy, we had a great time and can not wait to be a part of their wedding at the Royal Alberta Museum in August! Nothing beats early morning light, and we are so happy to be sharing these images with Sally and Peter, and anyone who happens to stumble across our little blog

This next shot was a surprise for all of us. We were driving off, thinking that the shoot was over when we got stuck behind a train! Shaun jumped out, grabbed Sally and Peter from their car, and we managed to snag a few quick shots before the train was gone. Thanks for joining us in spontaneity!
