My little sister’s birthday is just around the corner, and with that comes the age old question: “what the heck do I get her??”. I usually pride myself in getting thoughtful gifts for friends and family, but as the years go by it gets more and more difficult. There isn’t much that she wants, and definitely nothing she needs, so what should I do? Thankfully, Sonic 102.9 had the answer. Now I just had to luck out.
First off, if you’re not collecting Sonic’s Glee Club points, you should be. Head over to their site now and sign up! It’s so easy, and the rewards are great! I have been collecting Sonic’s Glee Club Points for a long while now, and have definitely enjoyed the benefits of being a Glee Club Member; I’ve scored the few CD’s and DVD’s by redeeming some of the points in their Flea Market. When I saw that they would be giving away a few double guest passes to a Sonic Session with Moby I freaked out and knew that this is what I had to get for my sister. Sonic Sessions are intimate, acoustic shows and only a lucky few are able to get their way in. We’re both huge Moby fans, so I was super excited about this too! I knew my chances were incredibly slim, as they were only giving away 1 double guest pass a day, for just a few days, through their Flea Market. To make a long story short, on the 3rd day of giveaways, I won! It took me a minute to believe I actually managed to weasel myself a way into this show, and I immediately called my Mom to tell her I just got my sister the best birthday gift EVER. The session happened yesterday and was awesome; there couldn’t have been more than 25 people there and we were able to get autographs at the end. Thanks to Sonic for putting on such an awesome event!
So, while this gift was partially self-serving and didn’t cost me more than the price of a CD (I purchased her the new Moby CD Wait For Me as well), I think she had a pretty good time.
HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY SIS’, HAVE FUN LEAVING THOSE TEEN YEARS BEHIND!
Here are a few pictures from the session; check out my Flickr page to see the rest!

I was just going to get him to sign the CD Play, but then he offered to sign my copy of Earthlings as well (he provided the music for it)!
